I am the owner of “Athletes in Pain, Sports Therapy Clinic” and have over 29 years of experience as a Sports Therapist.
I have had the privilege of working with various athletes and have had many accolades throughout my career. Listed below are a few of the highlights.
- Jamaican and British Olympic Team sprinters at the 1996 Olympics.
- University of Arkansas in Little Rock, track team 2000 and 2001.
- Sports Therapist for the indoor arena football, “The Twisters” 2000 and 2001.
- Head Sports Therapist, Woman’s 7’s US Rugby Team, 2009.
- In 2014, I worked directly with 7 Denver Broncos players including Julius Thomas, Brandon Marshal, TJ Ward, Stephen Johnson and Marvin Austin.
- Competitive Body Builder for 10 years, placing in the top 3 in all contests.
- A regular guest on the radio station KARN “The Dave Elswick Show,” a weekly two-hour call-in talk show about health/fitness, injuries and the prevention of injuries. I’ve also been the Keynote speaker at the following conferences and seminars: “Committee on Woman’s Concerns,” “Arkansas Triathlon Society,” “AHSEA Conference,” “Arkansas Running Klub,” “The Arkansas Arthritis Foundation” and “UAMS Health Fair.”
I am extremely passionate about not only my work, but also about educating each person on how to increase the efficiency of their bodies. No two people are alike and rehab & athletic enhancement shouldn’t be either. I use slow motion video analysis (which gets converted into a PDF format for each athlete) to gather precise information to see exactly what’s happening from one side of the body compared to the other side under a stress load; indicating either where the injury occurred or where a future possible injury is lurking. By utilizing these various components, I am able to identify and address the difference in muscular tightness, facial restrictions as well as muscular weakness and their specific locations.
